The first Chinese Formula 1 Grand Prix 1, which took place September 26, 2004 had for winner the Brazilian Rubens Barrichello on Ferrari.
This Grand Prix is sponsored since its creation by a Chinese oil company, Sinopec. and competes on the Shanghai International Circuit.
Team Red Bull has won its first F1 victory at the Grand Prix in 2009.
