Bahrain​ Grand Prix

Added to the calendar of the Formula 1 World Championship in 2004, the Bahrain Formula 1 Grand Prix  takes place at the Sakhir International Circuit.

The first edition was won by Michael Schumacher. The following seasons were won by Alonso (2005-2006), Massa (2007-2008), Button (2009), Alonso (2010). In 2011 the race was canceled due to political instability in the country. In 2012 it was Vettel on Red Bull Renault that finished on the top of the podium.

One feature of this grand prix is that at the podium the champagne bottle is filled with a carbonated soft drink.

Sakhir Circuit

Sakhir International Circuit is another circuit created by the German architect Hermann Tilke. The inaugural Grand Prix took place in 2004.

It is located in the desert forcing organizers to find ways of to avoid deposits of sand on the track. With a length of 5.411 kilometers it gives a grand prix of 308,484 km after 57 laps.
